The Exchanged is a coed, independent, online newsletter that was established during the 2016-2017 school year.
Our publication is by students, for students. It is a platform for students to express their ideas freely without the direct oversight from their respective school administration. Our primary goal is to promote the exchange of viewpoints, thoughts, and opinions across the Close. We cover a variety of subjects mainly centered around politics and student life in a variety of mediums, such as articles, podcasts, cartoons, and puzzles. We aim to publish biweekly. We are a completely student-run publication. All of the editors, coordinators, writers, and contributors are high school students from the National Cathedral School and St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., NW. However, none of the content that we publish represents the views of the staff of The Exchanged, the National Cathedral School, St. Albans School, the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, not any employee thereof. Opinions written are those of the writer and the writer alone. The few articles written by members of the staff do not represent the views of other members of the staff. The editors of The Exchanged reserve the right to not publish articles by writers and to report content we deem offensive and harmful, whether in a comment or article, to each school's respective administration. This would involve a meeting with all of the Editors-in-Chief, requiring unanimous agreement for content to be reported. Other results may be getting an article removed from the website or not being permitted to write for the publication again. We respect writers' right to remain anonymous if they so choose. Their names will not be published on any part of The Exchanged's website or newsletter. However, this does not protect them from any repercussions should they choose to submit content we deem offensive and harmful. The Exchanged aims to be just one stall of many in the free marketplace of ideas. Last Updated May 2025
